Hey guy's...I want to put EB Ford electric mirrors onto my EA Fairmont that has manual mirrors. I already have a pair of EB electric mirrors, but I have no idea how to wire it? Does anybody know what I need to do for this conversion? Here are pictures of the plugs that come off both mirrors.

G'day,
the square 4 pin plug is EA-ED. (one pin missing..ie the above photo, one on left...???? the one on the right is EA-ED)
A little investigating may be required. As your car is a fairmont i am surprised that it has manual mirrors.
Having worked on literally hundreds of EA-ED, one thing i have found is that some times all the factory wiring is in place for electric mirrors, but the car winds up as a GL and doesn't get them. For example my EB-1 is a GL with manual, but the wiring is all in place....go figure.

The best thing you can do, is to check inside your doors for the wiring, if its not there, then go to a self serve wrecker and get the factory wiring and fittings. Beware tho, this may be a dash out job, but it is the only way i would go....even dash out.

Cheers

Thanx Jas...that's a good idea about checking if the wiring's already there and I never thought of that? The door trims are still on the car and maybe when I pull them off I'll get lucky and the wiring/plug's will be there? I've also just realised that I don't have the control switch and the interior blank panel for the passenger side mirror...so I'll just go to Pick-A-Part or something and get them, thanx again...Luke!!

Well, if your talking pick-part-then you are reasonably local to me.
I was thinking about this today...have never seen a fairmont with manual mirrors, and came to the conclusion that previous owners had damaged the original's and replaced with manuals as a cheaper option.

Cheers
