Well i have everything now for the mpi conversion except ecu. I read the tech article and it does not mention anything about changing ecu's. I checked gregorys schematic diagram and the multi-point injectors are bank fired the same as the cpi motor (3 instead of 1). Any idea's

Excellent!!! that will save me money on the total conversion cost. I got quoted $80-$100 from the wreckers.

some people have had idleing porbs with the CFI comp on an MPFI, but good luck.

the mpfi comp has different fuel and ignition maps to suit the different sized injectors and different fuel pressure. it will run with a cfi one but optimally a mpfi is needed. the mpfi ecu fires the injectors in banks of two anyway, so the 6 injectors go to the same two outputs of the ecu.

you should be able to find an ecu for less than $100.

It will RUN with a CFI computer.
But I've never gotten one to IDLE without using the idle screw to hold the throttle open a fair bit.

I suggest finding a MPFI computer, a decent wrecker should only want $50 for it.
