I have a late 95 EF Fairmont Ghia, in need of a bit of work, body is fine, although drivetrain and engine, shocks, and electrics arnt great, roughly ball park figure any one know what it will cost me to bring back to good condition, just an estimate to see if its worth saving the car, for future modding.

Well to give u an idea:

- there is a speak from the rear axle when turning corners
- the electrics play up, like elec windows, climate control, central locking are silly at times
- the engine has idle problems and the gears change up and down at odd rev points
- the car needs to be put into park securely before u can start it (doesnt find park properly even when the shifter looks like its right)

thats the main list of problems, u rekon i could fix it all for around $5000 give or take a lil?

A good exchange engine and transmission fitted $1500+
New shock all round, supply and fit lets say $500-$700
An auto electrition will probably charge between $60-$100 an hour to look at your car plus parts.

This is just my ruff guess , so dont quote me on any of these prices
cause im just trying to give you some idea of the cost.It will always
be cheaper if you can do some of the work yourself.And you can
always find good deals on ebay or trading post and of coarse these
