[EF_Ghia]

Hey guys, just replaced the Harmonic Balancer or Crankshaft Pulley on my EF & the engine has started surging, on idle it will idle from 400rpm up to 1300rpm & has stalled twice out of about 10 starts.

Iv checked all hoses etc that i came near for the job, everything is the way it should be. I understand the timing is changed electronically so i assume it cant be that? Engine doesn't lack power or run rough while driving, only at idle speed. I have JMM Dev5 installed, the cam has always been alittle rough but never like this theres deff a prob & think this is probably related to the crankshaft pulley.

Yea had the battery off the whole time about 2 full days... Whys that?

sounds like the computer has just reset it self it should solve the problem itself
other wise check the the idle speed controller is plugged in and make sure its not dirty!!

Hey, thanks for that, yea i gave the car a good run yesturday and its gone back to normal now so im happy. Thanks for that.

So what happens the computer resets itself and makes it idle that way for a while...
