Does anybody know if an expedition would be able to tow a 24' enclosed trailer with a stang inside? we figure the total weight would be around 7500 lbs or so... We have gone to a few ford dealers and they all answer with something different. Let me know if u have an opinion on the whole thing. Thanks

I was asking for an OPINION, not a smart answer. As a matter of fact I have checked the manual and its right near the border line. Thats why I was aking for an opinion. Some dealers say since its close, a bigger engine would be wise, others say its ok. Just wondering if anybody has any opinions or experience on the subject.
Thanks,
Jen

Expedition Towing

You have tongue weight of around 750lbs added to your vehicle weight plus people and luggage. Your expedition weighs around 5500lbs with gas. You have coil springs in the rear which with a trailer as heavy as 7500#'s could cause lots of sway problems. I would back of to something lighter. Hensley makes a hitch for vehicles close to the line for towing but it costs $2350. Heavy cost but safety first. lets see
Gwvr Expedition 7800-8000
Expedition weight 5500
People Weight 300 +
Trailer Weight 7500
Total Weight 13000
GVCR MAX 13 TO 13500

Trailer to heavy. Sorry but you need a bigger vehicle.

Good luck with your F350. 3/4 or 1 tons are the only way to go when towing trailers that size. It's really not fun having white knuckles the entire time while towing, might as well stay safe and get something that was really made to do the job you have at hand. I can say this from experience.

Have fun with the new rig.
