Well just to pour more salt on wounds of the guys that couldn't make it....
Today saw us all venture into the Broadmeadows Assembly plant, where all the pretty shapes that we saw yesterday get cut get turned into the AU. It's pretty amazing stuff how it all comes together. We then watched a video whilst the other group went around about how the falcon came about and some early commercials (thank god we dont have haircuts like that now)
We then ventured up the road and had a little chat with Geoff, which was excellent that he could fit us in to his schedule (Thanks Geoff). He showed us something special to him....Shame it wasn't longer, but it was satisfying all the same. We then headed over to tickford, where we all enjoyed a BBQ lunch with all the guys and gals there. After lunch we were shown around the factory and shown how those fantastic XR's are put together. Well, what next..... Go-Karting... A 100 lap race with compulsary pit stops and drivers changes just to keep it interesting... It was a very clean race by all..... except for one who just had to show Albert how to do the one finger salute...
I'm not sure if i can make to any other events scheduled for the rest of the week, although i will be trying to. If i can't I would thank Geoff and Ford, David and Tickford and most importantly Felicity for going to the trouble of putting this whole thing together for us. I have had an amazing two days, an will remeber it for a very long time.
I'm now accepting offers for anyone that wants to work for me tomorrow so i can go along again....
