Classic trucks are incredibly popular today, and many of them have been converted to hot rods over the years. This 1955 Ford F-100 pickup is certainly a hot rod, and every aspect of it has been customized. On the exterior of the truck, the majority of it appears to be metallic silver with flames that start with a blue color in the front and fade to purple towards the cab of the pickup.
The flames are the traditional hot rod style, not the real fire flames sometimes seen. On the outside of the truck, it’s clear that lots of custom bodywork has been done. Notably, the 1955 Ford F-100 has no door handles, and most of the emblems have been shaved. The bed of the truck is particularly good-looking, showing that it has been tubbed and has real wood lining the bed. Also, in the bed of the truck is a Moon Eyes fuel tank. Under the hood of the custom hot rod truck is a Ford V-8 with Ford Racing valve covers and an aluminum radiator.
The truck was made for show just about everything under the hood sporting a polished finish with etched ghost flames. We particularly like the intake that supports eight velocity stacks. As much attention was paid to the inside of the truck as the outside. The dash appears to be painted in the same silver color as the exterior with leather in matching gray and blue.
The door cards have flames stitched onto them, and the instrument panel is very clean and simple. We like that the steering column is painted the same blue as is found in some of the flames on the outside of the truck. One oddity is that the throttle and brake pedals are both on the right side of the steering wheel. The vehicle supports a custom audio system and appears to have air conditioning as well. The truck is going up for auction with RM Auctions in Palm Beach on March 20th to 21st
