Girly is a bit harsh. You FF guys are a tough crowd...
I already have some Comp valvetrain parts and I am a fan of their cams. The XE282HR is a fair bit wilder than the X303 (+8* @ 50th), so perhaps the XE274HR is the go? The car is a daily driver and cannot be too wild on the drivability / noise / economy / emissions front.
Agreed, I recently changed from an E303 to an F303.
Abit lumpier in the idle, Alot more go when starting to rev out.
Good drivabillity & economy, so far,,,...
Yeah the TFS cams are really popular in the US at the moment with the TFS-51402000 being used on the 5L engines and the TFS-51402001 and TFS-51402002 getting good numbers with the strokers. Plus they are nice and cheap.
TFS-51402001
224 intake/232 exhaust .542"/.563" 112 with power range of 2800-6300rpm
TFS-51402002
236 intake/248 exhaust .574"/.595" 110 with power range of 3500-7000rpm
The Comp cams XE282HR is listed as having a power band of 2600-6600 in a 5.0. The stroker will bring that down a couple of hundred revs. The peak lifts are .565" inlet & .574" exhaust.
The stage 3 Trickflow is 3500-7000rpm and .574" inlet & .595" on the exhaust.
Both cams would well suit the Trickflow/AFR heads where the heads are still flowing well into the .600" lift regions - but the stage 3 would probably be best set up advanced to bring the power range down into realism.

Racer, you have this bumpstick so can you please give us a few of your engine specs?
If a 347, at what RPM did peak power occur? I don't want to rev the crap out of my engine for a few extra ponies. My current cam (Crane 2030) peaks at 5500 and I just want to extend this to 6000/6200 but no more.
Can anyone here give me reliable information on the '84 - '87 351W H.O. engines that were in pickups. They had 4 barrel carbs. and were supposed to have a higher horsepower. Other forums say the heads were a problem and that they didn't have much if any advantage over the heads that would have...
Hi Guys, I'm a Newbie to this great looking site and arrive with a drama nobody can explain.........l
In my boat I have a 650 hour, marinised, twenty year old Ford 351 Windsor V8. Due to a cracked cylinder head, I had it rebuilt locally with a new head, pistons, rebore etc. etc. All went well...

I recently bought a 92 F-150 with a 5.8 liter 351 Windsor. I love the truck but just driving from my house to the next town over(which is a 15 minute drive) and back is just over a quarter of the tank. I was wondering if there was any mods I can do to increase the mileage.
It is completely stock...
