I have a 2004 Ford F-150 stx with the 4.6
the other day when I started it the brake and abs light started flashing and when I come to a stop the abs feels like it is engaging, like when your slipping on ice the brake pedal jerks a little. I took it to my mechanic and he said it was the instrument cluster and I needs to be replaced. A day later I drove it and when I tried turning it off it wouldn't. I turned the key off and took it out but the engine was still on. Not running good more like it was about to die. I then for some reason turned my headlights off and then the engine shut off. I have no idea what is wrong with it but it sounds like more than just a cluster replacement is needed.
Any thoughts??

I doubt the instrument cluster would have anything to do with it. Something electrical has gone haywire, somewhere. No offense but I would take it to a different mechanic.
