Hello!

I´m from Germany and have a big problem with my F250 automatic transmission! I´m sorry, if my english is not best!

Thats the problem:

We have driven on a motorway over 1000 Kilometers! Suddenly the engine brings no energy on the street. It´s like if you switch to "N". This probleme we have with all gears (P, R, OD, 2, 1). In all gears the Pick Up rolls (in P too!!). We have looked after the oil, it looks good. I don´t think that the clutch is broken, because its happened suddenly and the transmission has really no function! It´s like if there where no transmission?

Can you help me?

Phil, I had the same problem twice. The first time was pulling a grade with my trailer. I went to second manually, and within a a few minutes I had no trans. There was no sound or indication of a problem. When the trans was tasken out the Planitary Gear was sheared. no signs of any other damage. The fluid was clean and no signs of the fluid being hot. One week later after the trans had been rebuilt 3 times and installed, and finally replaced with a Ford Remanufactured trans the same thing happened. This time there was lots of noise. The truck was towed to a Ford Dealer and trans was replaced with a Ford remanufactured one. I have had a noise sounding like marbles rolling around after the trans warms up. After it shifts into 3rd the sound is not there. Put truck on rack and the sound is coming from the trans. Also when I come to a stop the Torque converter sounds like it is unwinding. The truck goes to another dealer tomorrow. This is a 96 460 4x4 extra cab. This all starded January 13th and still having proplems.
