Hi there, I'm new to the forums. I'm normally using the Nissan forums for my own car. But my future father-in-law asked me to get on these forums and ask you all for some help with his son's ford probe. His son is only 16 y/o, so his dad, (my future father in law) is the main caretaker of fixing the car.

So it's a 4-cyl, 1997 Probe, Auto, I think the base trim as well.) The issue is when they are driving the car and come to a stop, the car dies on them when they begin to accelerate from the stop. It's also died from turning the wheel when making a turn.

His dad has replaced the spark plugs, wires, dist. cap, rotor, checked the air flow sensor, and replaced the oxygen sensor. He doesn't know where to go from there. Does anyone else have a solution to this problem? Thank you everyone for the help, I appreciate everything.

Do you all have a picture of where the idle air control vale is located? Is it possible it needs to be replaced completely? Or does could it possibly need adjusted or gasket replaced? Any ideas?

Thanks,

Taylor
