I hope Ford does put something along the lines of the Fairlane concept
on the road. Of course it has nothing in common with Fairlanes of the
past, but other than that I really like the general idea.

Give me a practical modern interpretation of the much derided station
wagon, please!

Sensationally ugly. That is not a minivan. A minivan is a vehicle with a
lot of room, and a lot of flexibility in the seating options. It has the
ruggedness of a truck with the ride and smoothness of a car. It sits
higher than "ordinary" cars. It has many luxury and techno options, such
as the rear seat DVD entertainment systems and three zone air
conditioning systems. It has sliding side doors and a rear hatch that
make loading people or cargo much easier. It is an amazing grand touring
vehicle, with maximum comfort for a lot of people.

It is a Freestar with digital instrumentation.

Is the OP still out there? Would you care to respond? Anyone care about
the design of the minivan?
