Hi all,

I know this topic may be a sensitive one to some, but I would just like to ask, how does the EF XR6 perform up against a 5 ltr Commodore (185Kw or greater)? Maybe there are a few of you who can speak from personal experiences :)

Do they make a performance Commodore? I'd put my money on the xr6 esp down low.

Paul,

I meant the SS Commodore. For instance, the VR put out 165Kw, whereas the VS had 185Kw.

The 5.0L VS didnt have 185Kw, it had 168Kw. There was a HSV upgrade available for them though, which brought power to 185Kw.

With 2 equal drivers I think an EF XR6 would would win by a couple lengths over the 1/4 against a 168kw 5.0L VS, the 185Kw would be a bit closer.

Holden they DON"T list the figures for the six[I know why]
the six puts out a whoping high [email protected] rpm 370 nm @3600 10.1 kg/kw w/weightWOW

I went and rearched through my mag selection,Ill have to pump iron latter,
Holden:5Ltr ss 179 kw 400nm they didn't list performance figures either?
Only H.S.V Manta v.s 5Ltr 0 to 100=8;2 1/4 16;2 185 kw/400nm.I tried best I could do...

Are we talking about the Stock Holden S or the Supercharged version?
The stock S puts out 147kws and 302Nm Torque.

Not sure what the Supercharged version puts out. But I think its around what the XR6 VCT puts out.

Just the S, not supercharged.
So what I gathered is that the EFII XR6 would piss all over the VTII S pack Commodore?

Geez i hate Holdens. But Ford should really bring out a big V8 like they have in the States.

No such luck with the 4.6. The motor they talk about is the old 5.0 stroked to 5.6.

Of course that's not such a bad thing itself.

Both figures Are there,not writen too well I know.Interesting the XR6 hp is quicker esp
0 to 100[lighter]than XR6 vct [heavier]notice the power to weight?The Holeden is shit house.In power to weight.Strange that I found two mags neither had performance times in them.Yes Holden would have lost thats why.Holden bias?? YES!!!!!!!

Hi all,

Just thought that I would supply a few details on the subject from some old motor mags from the past and here are the findings.

VR SS 165Kw 8.8Kw/kilo

0-100 7.87 sec, 0-400m 15.75 sec

VS SS II 168 Kw

0-100 7.34 sec, 0-400m 15.27 sec

VT SS series 1 179 Kw

0-100 7.58 sec, 0-400m 15.58 sec

VT series 1 Clubsport 195Kw

0-100 7.07sec, 0-400m 15.24 sec

VT S series 2 152 Kw

0-100 9.3, 0-400m 16.9 sec

EF XR6 164Kw

0-100 7.86 sec, 0-400m 15.37 sec

El XR6 164 Kw

0-100 7.55 sec, 0-400m 15.26 sec.

I hope this sorts out a few details for you as the research was a bit difficult on the Clubsport as they did not list the performance of 0-100 in many places, not sure why.

0-400 I DON'T KNOW BUT IT'S ENOUGH TO PUT PLENTY LENGHTS ON A GENIII R8 (ABOUT 13.5)
