Ok just recently i have smelt fuel vapour coming from the charcoal canister. I have checked the purge solenoid as per gregorys but it takes 1min at 2200rpm to open where gregorys specify 10-20sec. This has led me to think that the solenoid is working but i have a leak somewhere which is decreasing fuel vapour in the canister. What is the 3rd hose leaving the canister and ends up near the left strut tower. Strong fuel smell is coming from this pipe, I have checked all connectios and they seem tight, Any suggestions??

Ok i have done some research and the 3rd hose is for clean air entry/escape. So if i can smell fuel vapour from this hose i guess that the charcoal canister has broken down inside or contaminated with raw fuel, water?. Does anyone know how much they cost???

cheers JJJ

Fixed problem, got a charcoal canister from a wreck at the local garbage dump, probably the only thing left in the scrapped EA GL shell. No more petrol smells!!!
