Anybody know of girls racing Mustangs? We all know guys are in this quite a lot, but I'm curious as to how many girls are out there.

I'm not trying to turn this into a sexist thing, but the opposite.

I was talking with one of my *good* friends tonight and she all of the sudden, blurts out that she loves fast cars and loves to race. Well, I'm thinking, "Ya, whatever, you couldn't possible be talking about actually racing, you probably just like a nice car". Well, come to find out, she wants to race, and figure out her quarter mile and everything! She learned a lot from listening to her now ex-boyfriend but never let on that she knew as much as she does.

Well, I'm going to try to help her get into it more, but I'm curious how many other girls are into cars and racing but don't let on that they know or would like to know because of how society and our culture associates cars with guys.

Let me know your thoughts or if you are a girl in this situation, shed some insight into this odd paradox of life.... ;)

I race mine ..

I am a girl but I don't think I know the whole "how society and our culture associates cars with guys" thing. I guess since I have always liked racing and where I do race, my face is familiar, I don't really see that sexist behavior. But I can see how that could happen. (I think the girls that race get more attn but I don't think that's a bad thing.) Fortunately, with women such as Roxanne Shephard, Shirley M and others, is becoming more common and accepted

I hope this doesn't sound bad but I sometimes act like I don't know anything about my car so that guys will help me out with it. I have to admit I haven't had to change my own oil in a long time.

This was taken at FunForWeekend in Baytown . .

It is fun to see chicks racing - I agree!

I once knew a girl

She was a racer of mustangs in one of the smaller nascar affiliates. I test drove one of their four mustangs. Her husband used to race them, but a nasty crash turned him into the pit crew and her into the driver. I never saw her actually race, but if the car he was selling is any indication of the ones they race, they are plenty fast. Although, the women sure do love the car when you drive by don't they? I think that a few women have gotten smart and realize that the true way to a man's heart isn't through his stomach, it's with a mustang.

my girlfriend used to race the '86 she once owned! :D

now she races in her mazda mustang and occasionally races in my 93 probe gt.

unfortuanately, for her, she will not experience the pleasure of racing in my 66 pony. :(

i'd have to be nuts to do that! ;)
