For those who are into GTP, what are your thoughts of the series. Personally I would like to see a change in the rules regarding modifications. As it is, you are allowed to change springs, shocks, install MOTEC engine management, exhaust, blueprint and balance and data logger. To me this is way above what they are supposed to represent, the showroom model! I'd like to see bone stock cars with only safety mods, rollcage and fire extinguisher.

There is also quite a debate regarding the Mustang RA that JB is racing. I tend to agree that it's not eligible, it has major mods that aren't on the production model Cobra, and it doesn't meet the requires sales to qualify as a production car , even if PHR do produce them, its only 20! It should be just the standard Cobra.

And why don't Ford enter a TE50 into the category?

I was surprised about the Cobra RA. I thought it was the Cobra R. I cannot see the sense in Ford/PHR building the RA when they could import the Cobra R which is a full on competition car. The R has the 5.4 which has over 400hp and alot more torque than the 4.6. The driveline and brakes are set up for racing.
What they have done now is set a precedent that HSV could use to build up the GTS. Imagine if HSV build a 6.0 Gen 3.

I agree,

They should've used the Cobra "R" from the states, or use the standard Cobra that's is now available here, then there would be no issue about it not being a production model. The only thing is the "R" would lap everything in GTP:wink2: Nations cup would be the place for it.
