you have to run a balancer that matches the windsor snout. Even if the crank is in a clevo. You run a SVO type timing chain setup which is availble through romac.

Do you have to run a svo harmonic balancer with a 4' stroker crank.
I am running a standard Ross clevo balancer with a steel outer which fits perfect.
Where the cranks differ is where the crank gear sits. the clev has a slight step up around few thou. The stroker snouts are machined for windsor gears which do not have this step which makes the gear slightly loose .
You will need three woodruff keys as well ( sbc, holden six)
Croc,if you are building from new and have had the mains honed ( highly recommended) then you may need what is called a line hone set. The upper gear is made slightly bigger and i,m sure that they come in 5 and 8 thou 'tighter' .

Here's a tricky one. We just started a mates newly completed 32 Tudor with a 302w /C4 that came completed with the rolling shell. It's running a 351 firing order and has a vibration starting at 1000rpm. Checked the flex plate and it looks ok with no missing weight. Its a 1991-1996 engine and is running a 50oz Harmonic balancer ( e4te-a3a). what else could be causing the vibration ? TIA.

This is an old thread from 2006 and may may get better answers if you start a new thread.

Does it have an old style steel fan and if so are all the blades there.

Is it running on all eight cylinders.

It has an electric fan so not that, yes it's running on all 8 and sounds ok. Could it have the wrong flex plate do you think ?
