Have a 2020 Explorer and the headlight went out. Took to dealer, and they say that the headlight must be replaced all in one assembly, including taking the bumper off to do so. The part alone will be over $1600, and with labor it will be over $2k. The car only has 38,000 miles, but my warranty is technically up. How is this the only option on something as trivial as a headlight, and why does Ford force you to pay that much when it is a design flaw on an otherwise very cheap and common part?
Anyone else dealt with this issue, or had any luck convincing Ford that this is unfair?
