I know there is someone out there! I started a topic yesterday, and not ONE person even viewed it! Now how pathetic is that? Man this sucks being a moderator of a section that's deader than a doornail...

What type of modifications? Performance? Or body/stereo?

I don't know much about stereos and such, but for performance the best thing to start with is a cat-back exhaust and a good intake setup.

Most people go with 2 1/2" mandrel bent pipes and a good high flow muffler. You can also purchase a high-flow cat from Catco or Random Technology that is stainless steel.

For intake we are lucky with the 3.0. You can just remove the airbox and replace it with a cone filter.

If you want to go further with the intake you can have your upper/lower intake manifold ported and polished. I noticed that this upgrade has made more power than just the cone filter by itself. The port and polish really opened things up in the low end that the exhaust had slightly lost before..

If I were to go in any order, I would do the intake first, I noticed more gains from the intake. But I also had my cat-back installed first so it could have helped alot.

Once you get past the exhaust and intake modifications, it would be good to go with ignition upgrades. Then upgrade your fuel system via high flow pumps, blueprinted injectors, or possibly a FPR (Fuel Pressure Regulator)

You can also take your heads down to a machine shop and have them shave them, do a valve job, port and polish, and that should make the top of your engine complete. It might be a good idea to have a set of gapless piston rings installed also, since they may go out after a while of modifying the top of the engine so much.

A good idea after you have done all your modding is to install a custom burned chip. But you must wait for everything else to be done first that way you can program the chip to reflect what changes you have made in your car, rather than getting the chip first and then making changes that the chip is not really aware of or optimized for...

Any more questions just ask..

How much did your cone filter and breather total?

Well, it could have been cheaper, but I went for a super large cone filter, a 9". You can get away just fine with a 5-6" cone filter and save yourself some money... also I went with the Autophysics Big Mouth series, if you go for the standard type and a smaller size you can get both the cone filter, and the breather for $50 or less. The breather cost $12, and the 9" Big Mouth was almost $60. Autophysics is nice, but they are spendy, if you want to save money go for a K&N or something else.... I went for the Big Mouth for the looks... I have been dressing my engine up.

Hey probe_racer! Yeah that sux about Probetalk but oh well. I wonder if it's down for good, and they are just saying that the server is being moved to throw everyone off? Anyways, how's it been? I remember you working on a supercharger project that didnt turn out and then you were going to try a turbo setup. Did you ever get anywhere with that?

Peace!

well since the supercharger went south due to me refusing to loose the AC, im getting money together for a turbo setup, college is expensive you know, but i will have turbo cause a friend of mine blew up his impala ss with the NOS and that was only after using nos like four times, anyways nos is cheating in my personal opinion, kinda like an athlete on drugs well anyways as soon as i develop the film of the pics of my car during and after the rebuilt i will post them here or in probetalk, now im flat broke thanks to college BUT now i have a bad ASS 3.0 with engine rebuilded ported and polished and man does it roar with that OBX dual canister muffler man i even beat a guy in a pgt that is fixed up according to the owner man i should be hitting constant 14s hopefully this coming week at the racetrack whoo hoo well laters

Hey guys! Lots of familiar names on here. I don't know how I never ran across this before. I guess I just though Probetalk was the end all and be all of the online probe world :).

So you are saying that you can get a supercharger to work, but you have to remove the AC? Tell me more, I was planning on removing my AC anyways.

Also, with this supercharger idea you had, wasnt it so that you are able to put the hood down also without cutting it or putting a scoop on it?

hey vulcan here it goes if you do remove the ac from your car then the pulley will be taking over the place where the ac hoses stick out which would enable you to have the supercharger to be located where the battery is so it does clear the hood and no holes so you get a probe that looks stock but its a beast in the inside if you do want to get the supercharger idea going on email me and i will help you out so you can do it as i told you i decided to give up the supercharger cause i have to have ac here in south cali

How much do you think it would cost in total parts? Also, do you know if it will work without a doubt. Will there have to be custom brackets made? Will I need a new fuel pump or injectors? What brand/model supercharger is it and also what kind of PSI does it run and how much HP can it add, (somewhere around 50?)
