great :) i don't know what the problem is, I have no dash lights/gauges won't light up no CEL. Radio doesn't turn on. I checked the fuses under the dash and no power to my engine fuse along with the radio fuse and no power to windows. Will crank but wont start. (it ran for about 2 weeks after installing the disy. Car was taken to emissions and they hooked up a obd2). told me to come back in a few months for it to "gather codes" really are you f***in with me?!

Have seen this problem on several escorts and tempos. Ignition switch separate at the leading edge the engine will crank but will not start the tell-tale sign that this is wrong is the lights on the dash don't light up when you turn on the ignition switch the separation of the ignition switch is that in keep you from making a circuit for the ignition start the car very simple fix replace ignition switch hope this helps

Sorry my phone doesn't tyoe very well . The end of the mission switch not where you put the keys but the actual electrical switch on the column separate at the end nearest the firewall. The very last pin doesn't make a connection that's why it cranks but won't start and there are no lights on the dash when you turn on the ignition there I think it typed it better that time maybe that makes more sense

do i have to splice anything? or does it come loose inside the switch i have one i ordered should be here in a day or two. The only other possible choice it could be is the wires or the relay itself so i am hoping the switch is faulty and i can just pop the new one in.

Sorry my phone is not typing well again today. The switch mount on the steering column with two small bolts there is an actuator rod that comes from the lock cylinder where the key goes. The electrical part of the switch just plugs in. Nothing to splice.
