My father passed away recently. There is a 1969 Ford Cortina MK II in his estate that needs to have a value assigned to it. It has been kept in the garage for the past 20 years and it can be started but it has not been driven out of the driveway in years. The interior is in good shape other than a cracked dashboard. There is significant previous rust repairs and currently lots of rust under the car. The values from Hagerty.com don't seem like they apply. Is there another web site that I should look at? In my opinion it is not a candidate for restoration but it looks like a good parts car. The car is located in Northern Virginia USA. Before you ask, it is not for sale, my mother is hanging on to it for sentimental reasons. Can you give me an estimate of it's value? What other information would be helpful?

Sorry to hear of your loss . With regard to the car , from your description it has great sentimentality value but really very little monetary worth . We have an older car 1965 Ford Cortina MK1 GT in our Autos for sale section and it has the price lowered already and no sale in the last month it has been listed . Most of the valuation site prices are usually for cars in far better condition , reflected in the prices .quoted . A parts car as you suggest may be the best way to go but a lot of hassle and not an option . Sorry I cant direct you to any that would give a more accurate estimate of the cars worth .
