Thanks for that Stacy. I appreciate your comments.
Your welcome sir !!!!
I noticed it is a series 2 XR8 so why does it have orange indicators at the rear instead of the clear one's:confused:
It's a series one with Series 2 wheels, and nosecone as well as the engine cover

Jayton.
I've forgotten what I was going to ask you, when I asked who worked for Ford. I think this was it.
Can you check or have access to check on SIDO numbers.
Hey HSE2; I only just noticed :WH:
That body colour engine cover looks bloody alright  :D :wink2:
It would look even better if owner knew how to take photos:(

DOC, what sort of info did you need to know?

Firstly, bloody nice car!!!

Did you have any trouble fitting Series 2 nose cone????
Did you buy it new????

Love that engine cover........2pak or acrylic???

I have series 1 with body and 17's and plan to put on series 2 nose cone.......any tips???????
also.......

has it been lowered???

Brake upgrade????......red caliper!!!
Hello xlr8

Thanks for your kind comments. Do the nose cone you wont regret it trust me. Yes I got mine new and there are no problems with getting it to fit, or at least mine didn't. while you are at it I would have a look at the clear lenses too. I think I might replace mine.
I hope to post more pictures tomorrow as the interior is finished.

The car has been lowered and the brakes are 330 slotted fronts standard slotted rears, with twin piston front stoppers. The red is my doing (Tickford) and so is the logo (copy right not withstanding)

Engine cover is the same paint as the car 2 pac
I luv what you've done with her Ian, good stuff:thumbup: It's great too see all these mods happening on our Fords. The last time I spoke with you about your car was on ICq a while ago, mate she's looks hot:mmm: Engine cover looks cool too..

Can't wait for the interior shots.
Wow......i love this car!!! Basically you have done my dream car!!

Ok, can you give me more info on how you lowered it??

Where did you get brakes from and what are they???

I have been quoted about $1100 new for nose cone, is this reasonable???

Have ordered engine cover ($220 for full kit)

I am also getting mirrors resprayed.....including black bit that goes flush against door!!

are you talking about side indicators lenses????

gee....lot of Q's!!

Cheers

Thanks Jem

XLR8 Just remembered that the cone did have to be filed a little to make it fit the front guards on the outside alignment. Nothing that a good body works won't be able to handle
Do you have close up pick of brake set up???

sorry don't know how I missed those questions when I replyed to Jem.

Lowering is just new springs. Since learned after thanks to DOC I think it was that you should do a four wheel whell alignment after the springs. They are new items but, as far as handling goes the car does not feel as good when pushed hard since the change. Tickford weren't joking when they said the XR8 set up in standard trim is hard to beat. As far as looks go it is far better. On a race track this set up is better on normal roads I would say I have some work to do still!

The brakes are expensive because with series one you have to replace the front spindals. I spent a lot of time researching this and will post a close up just for you this arvo. If you are still interested I will get the details for you but don't expect much change from $3000

Yes the front cone is reasonable but only just. If that includes the front extentions then it is not too bad. You then have fitting and painting on top I assume! The extentions look good but I have had mine respray twice because I have hit the bottoms on drive ways!

Engine cover you have killed me on Take it and run

Good on ya for the mirrors Interesting about the balck door part though

I was actually talking about all the lenses. Front side and back

Hope this helps!

Thanks heaps HSE2......:p

Will post pic when mirrors resprayed

Not sure about lenses because i quite like the orange, would be hard to justify the cost!!! (well to the wife anyway:wink2: )

Look forward to seeing the interior pics

Rob

Am I one of the only guys that actually prefers AU1 look to the AU2 ?? I like the more rounded front and the heaps better AU1 rear spoiler. THe AU2 looks a little too "squarish" for me..

ALso glad to see that i'm not the only one that has to get any Car stuff past the "Family Accounts Payable department" - commonly known as the wife. She keeps mumbling something about winter clothes for my daughter or something...
Well we went from this :
