Hybrid Battery Degradation?

Hi y'all. Kinda new to this, so I appreciate the patience! I've had a 2014 Ford Fusion Energi PHEV (Titanium) for 6 years now and it's been fantastic. I've got around 116,000 miles on it now and have loved every minute of it! Planning on running it into the ground before getting a Maverick or a used Tesla.

I digress: the hybrid battery may not be what it once was. (which is to be expected) I guess I'm wondering if anyone out there has a similar year with similar miles and what your electric range is at this point. If I'm not mistaken, mine (new) started at 20ish or something like that, but now when I plug in, I think I can really only get up to 12 or 13, maybe 16 miles if I'm lucky. And they go QUICK. The first couple of miles are eaten like they're a snack haha.

Is this a normal rate of degradation? How much is a battery upgrade? Would that even be worth it at this point? Honestly just looking to find some similar owners and similar situations on the threads. Just happy to be here!

I don't know if this is true for 2014 Fusion Energi, but the 2010 through 2012 Fusion hybrid batteries were artificially aged.
Please see this thread:
I performed this fix on a couple of fusions with forscan, and the results were instantaneous and impressive.

Whoa! That's crazy. Thank you so much for reaching out.
So if I understand it correctly, they intentionally limited the battery?
Yep, and you have to wonder if they did it or something similar to other vehicles as well.
I own a Ford Focus Electric, and I cannot find a similar aging parameter for my car.
But earlier Focus Electrics have self-destruct batteries. I am knocking on wood that mine don't.

If you are the techy type, a small investment into forscan and the communications cable can provide a helpful tool in understanding the function of your vehicle.
