I have a beater 88 F250 4wd diesel that I mostly use as a farm truck. Well, long story, but yesterday I managed to lose the ignition keys. I had the only 2 keys on the same ring (how dumb can I get), and those have gone missing. I have torn the truck and my house apart and they are not showing up. I need to use my truck to go get some hay pretty soon.

I've watched some videos on removing the steering wheel and getting to the lock cylinder. They say that with the key turned to unlock, you can press something and the cylinder will pop right out. I can buy a replacement cylinder and keys for $17 at Autozone. However, without having the key, will I be able to get the lock cylinder to come out?

I just watched a video that showed drilling it out, and then pressing the release pin from the bottom to remove the cylinder. I guess this is what I need to do, eh?

Sounds like you're on the right path. Shouldn't need the key to remove the cylinder.
