So I bought an antique 1968 ford f-100 and the ac wasn't working so we were gonna replace the ac evaporator while we were taking out the heater core since it looked a little beat up but for the love of me we can't find the right part no mater where we look so I'm coming here t

Pressure test it with at a low pressure. get it to about 15-20 PSI, and spray a 50-50 mix water and dish detergent over it and look for foaming or bubbles. Raise it by 15-20 pounds and repeat the leak check until you get to 100 psi. If you don't have any leaks, use a plastic knife and gently run it down the fins to straighten them. Rinse well while keeping water out of the internal and make sure they hold the vacuum for about 2 hours since it has been ope tot he environment if it passes leak check.
