Would posting things direct ( read: copy / paste ) from another forum to here consitute a breach of copyright even if there is not mention of said copyright on the material that has been posted on the forums ?

well it is a breach of the copyright of the original writer. You do now even if another site copies the content and does not credit the author that does not give us free reign to do it here. We can as well as the other site get tagged for breach of cr for this.
