Hey StokEB
I just picked up some 24lb injectors for my ELXR8 from a wreckers.
They were of a TR magna and they are the same Bosch units that Ford use and you dont pay the hefty Ford spares prices.
U can pick them up from $15 each at some places.
Shop around.
Hope this helps.

Yeah blue magna injectors from the 4Cyl later models do fit and do work, but they are not the same as Ford Motorsport 24lb injectors. Their flow rates and curves are different but the EEC will learn.

I highly doubt it, the only ones I have heard capable of being used are the magne ones and thaats for the 5.0L EFI engine, not the I6.

HUS.

ED XR8 seems to think htey only fit the V8's, not I6

you could always go to a wrecker and ask if you could cehck which injectors fit, check all the bigger 4cyl cars, astra, vectra, magna, ford corsair, VW golf, Audi stuff if you can find any.

tell em if you can find a set that will do what you want then you will buy a set.

most will fit the ea-b, ive had ba falcon I6 injectors in my ea. made it run very rich. make sure they are high impedance.
i thought std ea-el injectors were good for 200+rwkws?

Exactly, stock injectors I6 are good for close to 200rwkw, so unless you have done some serious mods, a fuel injector upgrade will probably cost not give you power.

The stock I6 injectors will not support 200rwkw on a I6, on a V8 yes they would (just).

We stuck magna injectors on a turbo EB I6, it made 240rwhp on the dyno...
BUT it needed 70psi base fuel rail pressure plus boost to make it, this equated to 82psi. This amount of pressure will nuke the fuel pump quicker.

Also my friend has maxed out the stock EA I6 injectors at ~175rwhp at 38psi, upping it another 10-15psi will probably get him to 190rwhp.

There is something wrong there, injectors maxed out at 175rwhp. I have seen I6's with stock injectors getting 220rwhp with 40psi. From my understanding, the I6 injectors flow close to 22lb/hr (I could be wrong though). The stock V8 ones, which are 19lb can support 250rwhp with fuel pressure running at 45psi.

I don't know how the hell you got 220rwhp out of EA injectors!! I'm pretty sure EA-ED are all the same and they are all 19lbs. From EF they started using 22 or 24lbs I believe. I know the EA's are 19lbs because on Kalmaker the base pulse width is set at the same as the VN V6 commodore injectors which are 19lbs.

The 175rwhp is an approximate, the car did this power level on a dyno with a Holley 650dp. When you floor the car the injector rate goes to 100%, which is very very bad.

Also if you divide 250 by 8 then multiply by 6 you get 187.5rwhp for a I6 which shows how close my approximate is. Also my mate was running 38psi base.

Yeah forgot to take into account the 2 fewer injectors in the I6 hehe so yeah 250rwhp for V8 or 190rwhp for I6 would be about maxed out. The 220rwhp was on a turboed I6 running stock injectors and the AF ratio was fine, but thinking about it now it was obviously pushing the limits of those injectors.

The AU injectors wouldn't be a bad upgrade I reckon, they need an AU or aftermarket computer though as The EA/EL comp just overfuels running them. Apparently the pulse the AU computer sends is shorter or something, and the EA computers just can't send a pulse that short? From memory they were a 26 or 30 pound injector, don't quote me on that though :)

Drill holes in the intake and fit a second EA I6 injector rail :)

Dunno how you'll make the injectors work though :(
