Anyone out there know if the J-spec intake manifold is worth puting on my 96-SE. If so how hard are they to install. Will I need a ECU upgrade. Im still kinda new at the whole mod thing. Any help would be great
i don't know much about the J-spec 4cyl. But the kl-ze2.5L you reach max horses and tourqe around 6200rpm. So I would guess it would be higher for the J- spec 4cyl. as well. Do what the Jackson racing did to the Focus. Put in bigger valves and a turbo, it from 130 horses to 300.
Remember, those jspec #s are listed w/ the jspec ECU and 110+Octane fuel. Dont expect more than about 120-130 hp at the wheel from that motor in a US - spec car.
I heard that the J-spec intake manifolds that have been installed on the 2.0 just have the VRIS things tied open. Go with a port and polish. I recommend that Raw Power does it.
WOW lots of opinions, thanks for the info. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. I want more power. 118HP is pathetic these days for a 2.0L DOHC. I get spanked by quite a fue cars on the road.
