John Bowe had his first race in the Mustang today.
He qualified first but finished the first race about 10th. He won the second race. Kicked some of those GTS's buts.

Good Stuff... Glad to see he's doing well and kicking some HSV arse... :evil2: :evil2:
Yeah but it's not a Tickford badged car doing the HSV ass kicking, how much of a difference will this make to Ford and Tickfords image to the average joe?
Not very much:fmad:
True... But it's still a Ford out in front... :D
Awesome! Fastest lap was atleast 1 sec faster than everyone else too! (EVO Lancer, WRX STi, RX7, GTS etc) :D:D:D

Also the XR6 won both GT Production races, and the XR8 came second both times aswell :D:D:D

Good result Ford!!
Sweeeeeet, now to get the V8 brigade on the right track
That is great news, but proves my point about Ford not having a clue about marketing. The mustang sold through FTE dealerships John working for Tickford and you say no Tickford signage on the car!!!!!:mad3: :mad3: :mad3: :mad3: :mad3: :fmad:
We have all said that in the past but not to the level of me talking to Geoff Polites about this very issue.
The structure of the current V8 team set up is confusing from a marketing position if the purpose is to get street cred into a brand name.
The Cobra R was concieved by Ford's US SVT operation which is the same as Tickford. There is nothing stopping Tickford from doing a Cobra R - except Ford's marketing and accounts dept.
I think the Mustang will give Ford great exposure but they should tie in Tickford with the car. How?
It is what Ford in my opinion aren't doing well, and reading between the lines it may be a point of contention with in the group as well. Tickford has to be the marquee brand when it come to every motor sport issue in Australia. In my opinion both Lowndes and Fred Gibson should have been put in the FTR team. If that meant a three car team then so what.

HSE2 you could be right, Holden run more cars than HRT in the SCS, but honestly can you see Fred Gibson being told what to do..Fred's been around a while and quite honestly if there was to be a merger, if any, I would rather see Fred in charge of FTR, at least then we might get somewhere.
I think they would have needed another license to run another team.
Although that shouldn't really be a hassle, just buy one from a smaller team, until Avesco bring in the 2 car team rules anyway:fmad:

I wouldn't have it anyother way. Fred taking over the three car FTR operation. Introduce Nascar type sponsor deals with each car having a different paint scheme and naming right sponsor. Fred existing team just merges into Glenns to become FTR with True factory support and getting a marketing position that can finally work and at the same time looking after the Tickford name

Three letters... F. T. E. ....:evil2:

how is that going to affect Holden. ie HRT and there other team, both are owned by HRT, but different teams and drivers with different budgets.
Do AVESCO intend to say you cant race more than 2 cars with the same paint job, or you cant race more than 2 cars, full stop, in any team configuration.
G
HSE2 I can go along with that plan 1000%. not a problem. now be nice and draft a letter to Uncle Geoff and get the ball rolling.
Let's hope so, but that will hinder HRT from making money so AVESCO won't do that!!.. :evil2:
