Ahhh another day, another dilemma.

Recently I noticed my coolant bottle was empty so I topped it up with some more coolant. About a week later I had another peek under the hood, and it was empty again :fraz: Filled it up... I just assumed that maybe there was a couple of air pockets in my system from when my sump was replaced and everything was pulled apart.

Again, a couple of days ago I was adding some tranny fluid and that's when I noticed the coolant bottle was again empty. So I added some water this time, and now it's gone back down to half way (two days or so later). There aren't any visible leaks, so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas. If not, who will be able to find the leak ie. mechanics, radiator places??

:help:

A professional pressure-check might be your best bet, as it could be anything. A radiator specialist would be well equipped to help.

Yeah go get a pressure test done. I'm losing water, no water on the ground though. The welsh plug on the back of the driver's side is leaking onto the cat and boiling off. But the coolant stains are a bit of a give away.

first thing id do is a pressure test, most likely cause is the radiator cap
HOPEFULLY it is not a headgasket, think positive

Have ya checked ya heater core that can leak into the air ducts and evaporate with out a sign except for a REALLY bad smell when you use your heater. Otherwise take it to a mechanic and get it pressure tested, were good at finding leaks and charging insane amounts an hour to do it.

Hmm well I am waiting for some more money before I get it pressure tested, I don't want to be sprung with a surprising fee. Where abouts is the heater core and how can I check if it is that? Are they easy to replace? Expensive? Don't wanna have to pull out the dash or anything hehe...

Dash out is easy, just recently took mine out for the 4th time, and put it in the ea.
Luke you can tell if its ur heatercore if there is any dampness/ wettness under the heaterbox inside and/ or under the carpet (had it before).

Bloody mofo car =(... I have had a dampness in the driver's side footwell before, but couldn't source where it was coming from. I thought all the heater core etc was on the passenger side? Is it possible there could be a leak from a hose on the driver's side?

Sooo how can I get the leak happening again so I can find the stupid thing?!

I am loosing water but at a much slower rate, like once every two months I have to refill the bottle.

Think my problem is the head is slightly warped. I did the head gasket almost a year ago thinking that was a problem. But it is still using water, no sign of it in the oil. Look for a leak down the drivers side of the block its where mine is leaking.
