I know I'm a newie but I got a question for all you guys.

I have previously lowered my XF but i went a little overboard and ending up getting a canary for it. While it was lowered, it surely handled like a million bucks but as far as ride comfort went it was not to my liking.

Now its back to standard and handles not to my liking but comfort is beautiful. My question is how can I lower it so it looks really low but has at least some bounce in the front end. The problem with it before was that the shock was sitting on its arse, providing now bounce at all. I bought some pedders shocks that said it will improve it but it didn't make it that much better. I've heard that peoble modify the front suspension a little/

I saw it in last months street machine, it was a green XF fairmont ghia. Did anyone else see it???

Any way any comments would be greatly appreciated

Use supper low progressive rate springs. Kings make them for XF's while u r there grab some heavy duty camber bolts from pedders the stock ones are crap.
Also u should get shortened shockies as they incorperate a stop for when u take the weight off the front springs,dont know if u can still get them?they were monroe's?
Nolathane is good too...but it will give you a harder ride tho
I had all this done to my old XF and it had excellent handling on the road...usless on the dirt

Have you considered dropped spindles for the front.

Castlemaine Rod Shop have Australian made and complianced ones they brand as "Lo-Ride stubs". Available for XF Falcons in a 2" or 4" drop. This way you keep all the suspension geometry standard (including full travel of the shocks) yet get the car to hunker down.
Still need lower spings out back though.

I don't know about your lowering problems, but I do know that XF you're talking about - took a fantastic photo of it at the Easternats at Sandown this year.
