Hey everyone,
umm i just recently bought a 94 ed ghia, about 2 weeks ago. its my first car and i want to get it lowered and i really dont know what im doing. its at its original ride height now. i just want to ask a few questions:

1. How low do you think it should be lowered? 1, 2 inches ?

2. Having the tickford shocks will i need to buy a new pair ?

3. Will i have to buy a camber bar ?

I would go with a set of King Springs go for SL's it should bring your car down by bout 1 1/2 to 2 inches...you it should be fine with the shocks and struts you are running with now... :hy:

I suggest you talk to reputeable Suspensions Specialist.
If you are looking for a compromise then Sport Low would be the way to go.
If you want to look hot and ride a bit harsh then Super Low is for you.
Check your nearest Lovells Dealer for the right package to suit you.

when you say compromise you mean that if i get the sport low springs and not get new shocks camber bar etc. it will be a dodgy job? or you think it should be lower?

how much is the price difference?

yeh mat just get the oxy out and heat em up that'll work too

na mate the other guys r on it, go see someone reputable, king spings sem to be plentiful now, theres even people selling them an ebay so price is down nowbut if you want a decent ride then dont go tooo low, bump steer and all that sort of stuff can creap in.

but theres probably other guys heer that know more about it than me

thanks to everyone thats replied. i went and had another look on the car, it turns out the front are the tickford shocks and the rear where replaced just with standard ford shocks. i will go talk to some guy at pedders or something, i just hate it when you get the guy that just wants to sell you something and they dont really want to help.

Don't think Pedders is a good idea they might know what they are talking about but they will rip you off... well they did me on my first car that I lowered..Just use there know how not there product.

Don't chop em , not worth the headaches and hassells , For compromise I meant , on height and comfort not a dodgy job at all , if you go too low then the car can get rough to ride in as there is little or no suspension travel.

ohhh ok. well im not going to chop em and im not going to get them too low either. this weekend if i get off work a good time ill go get them done. i hope they dont cost too much stupid valentines day.....

Mate ,why f around for 1-2 inches?find out what the minimum ground clearance is and go for that!My ed has Arvin struts front and rear,super low king springs in the front that have been compressed 1 and a half inches and N15 nissan pulsar rear springs.This combination has dropped my ride at least 3-4 inches and the lowest point of the car is 10cm off the ground,the lowest u can go in New Zealand legally..
