I have my trusty mechanic down the road who looks after me in regards to minor services and the like, but I was just wondering as this is my first major service since buying the car, if I should go to somewhere more respected or performance orientated?

I have plans to slowly do my AUII in regards to performance and looks.

Is it possible to give the car a major service keeping performance in mind? I honestly have no idea what gets done to it during the major service so this question might not make sense :)

Anyone recommend a place to get my baby done? (2000 AU series II, auto 140k)

Driving it lately, I've been noticing it's been a little rough.

a service isnt exactly rocket science - if is a proper major they will do plugs, air filter, fuel filter, auto filter (if the aus have one?) and replace the oil in the auto, as well as do engine oil and filter.

you need an IQ of about 10 to do these things - im thinking your local mechanic will be able to do just fine.
