Simple (foolish?) question here... what do non-stock heads give you?

I'm looking at rebuilding one of my 351's, and I figured I'd try to get it running efficiently on gas, yet still have "fun" power. Would changing the heads make a difference in this area, or not enough of a different over stock heads?

Depends on what your after. In mild combo's the 302CC heads are good. Then if you have more $? Edelbrock, CHI and AFD all have cylinder heads that will control detonation better, disperse heat faster , have a better torque curve and consequently make a little more power.

i put heads that flow 500hp on a motor with a cam of 280-290 and [email protected]" or 2200-5000 and it ran great with good economy. they were 2v cc with backyard port job. i say go for it. cheers
What kind of gains did you make? What heads were you running previously?
