Hello all I recently acquired a mk1 cortina with the 1500 (non gt), the car has been sitting a long time but after some tinkering I got it to turn over and sputter, it has a Zenith 33 VN on it right now but it is missing parts and I can't for the life of me find anything for it, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I've considered swapping to a gt intake with a weber or getting a 2 to 1 barrel adapter to stay with the stock manifold, I live in canada so parts aren't readily available, any help would be appreciated!

You could try on e bay , sometimes get lucky on there for older parts . Dependant on what's needed , there used to be rebuild kits available , may still be available . Remember years back I did something similar when messing about and swapping over and experimenting with a 2.0 cyl head , Weber and manifold parts I had from a written off Cortina we had in garage . Cant remember exact details of models , probably different but became a nightmare in tuning and setting up . But your swap may be fine .

Thinking back it was a Mk2 or 3 but 40 + years ago

Thanks for the reply! I have been using ebay quite a bit to look for options, the problem with my old zenith is that I'm missing some of the linkage and none of the kits I have found have any linkage parts in them which is why I was kinda thinking i could find a weber or something like that and maybe a gt intake but I'm just struggling with it as there aren't many Cortina's here for parts availability and such

Been that long since I worked on a MK1 I'm a bit vague on set up now . Remember mu dad had a maroon one but wouldn't let me near it . Over here you could maybe get away with rejetting this or getting parts of it .

Those look to be a good option for a 2 barrel setup, in your opinion would you recommend just trying an adapter on the standard 1500 inlet or shop around for a 1500 gt inlet? Thanks

Well I'm thinking that if I get the GT manifold as well it might be a slight bump in power so I'm leaning towards that option, right now I'm just trying to get it running again but would like a little more power as well, I just don't have any knowledge of what works well with these cars as I've never seen one here

Hi Jaden, one thing to think about with English Fords is when doing the timing, many of them have a firing order of 1243 not the usual 1432.
