I spent 4 hours today fitting a set of those Multi Reflector Lights to the AUII.

They look great. they put out a tinge of Purple, green.blue light along the road.

These lights are 55w and are adjusted quite low.

Does anyone know what the legal implications are with these?

E.g. do the cops hate em.
Are they allowed on WHILST normal headlamps are on? Or are they allowed on ONLY with parkers.

Hi,

I am not sure exactly about the legal aspect, but I had a set of the "eye ball" lamps on my old EA. I had them hooked up to be on at the same time as my low beams.

My sis was driving the car one day, and got pulled over for speeding. The copper was giving her a hard time (a 17yr old in a nice car with mags, custom interior, stereo etc etc) and went all through the car. He ended up defecting the car for having the lamps on.

I decided not to fight it, and just took them off the car.

I take it they are fog lights? If so they are permitted to be on with parklights or lowbeam. However driving with just the park(side) lights on is actually illegal so foglights on with lowbeam is the usual way. Also having fog lights on in good visibility is also illegal so the police can complain about that as well, I know all the WRX/Suby crowd tend to leave fogs on it's just the switch won't reset off on igntion off. As for the colour they produce it is only a coating and doesn't give enough of a blue colour to be a problem. Ohyeah they have to be able to be switched off inderpendent of the main lights. Got caught myself once.
