here is a pic of my landau the day i picked it up. it had been stored since 78 and needs alot but the body is great. it runs very well and was modified in the 60's. it is nosed and decked and the front side emblems are shaved. the interior is basically stock but is a mix of black and white (i don't think ford ever ofered this concept). hawkrod

my 62 landau

hi, i was worried it would be a year before anyone saw my post! seriously, i looked at some of the post dates and see this area does't get much traffic (we'll see what we can do to change that!). i am planning on driving the car for a while and we'll see what happens. i have already put a set of 16 wheels on it and am in the process of cleaning and polishing. i got two parts cars with this and am using the best of all three. since i am in california, rust is not a concern. my problem is all of the cars are worn from lots of driving. i am going to put some suede paint on it and some front seat covers (they are starting to crack) and i just stripped a 66 so i will try to put front disc brakes on it and a dual resovoir master cylinder (i had a single fail once, thats all it takes!). i am toying with the idea of putting a 4 speed in it and maybe a 460 but i was hoping to find some info before i start as i want to make sure it is an easy swap because there really is no need to swap it is just ego that makes me do it (you should see my 64 studebaker wagonaire project, stude 289 full flow motor with a ford 5 speed and rear, 16" wheels and about to be 4 wheel disc brakes!) thats about it for my plans, i hope to be driving in about two weeks. thanks, hawkrod

Hawkrod, nice car. I've always loved the bulletbird's style. I couldn't open the last file, but from the fist photo it looks pretty clean. I have a '66 Town Landau myself. I'll try to attach a photo to this post. I've had trouble doing this pm the past @ f150 online so forgive me if it doesn't work.

old links!

hey, sorry about the link. i put pictures on network 54 for free but they are only good for a couple of months and that one was old when i linked it here! (free service sucks, i guess you get what you pay for !{G}). i started working on my car tuesday but then it started raining so i am done for the week. i detailed the back seat area, lubed and repaired the back windows and am working my way forward. i also checked out the scary driving characteristics of the car and found out i have a bad lower ball joint, a bad idler, and a bad drag link! oh well i was going to do the front end anyway now i guess it will be sooner than later! i bought an NOS tri-power air cleaner from a dealer but it is a little more than NOS it is actually an unfinished casting! the guy is one of the 406-427 specialists and he sells repop air cleaners and stuff and about 20 years ago he was going to original sources to get repops made (he uses dearborn tubing for his linkages, they made them originally and used the original prints to make new ones!) and one of the places had this unfinished air cleaner. it is very nice and totally correct but has no holes drilled in it yet! can anybody tell me with a dergree of certainty how the bird emblem is supposed to be attached? the parts books show the bird studs and nuts on the underside but i have seen some with no holes in the lids and some with speed nuts on the studs. problem is i have never seen an original for sure (until i got this car i didn't give a rats backside for blvd cruisers!). hawkrod

t-bird steering wheel & exhaust

I just bought a 64 bird, 390ci. runs good, fair shape.
I was wondering what has to be done to slide steering over.
Is bigger better? Getting ready to put new duel exhaust on.
Would the 2 & half inch pipe be better than 2in. or smaller with flowmaster muffler. Want to add flame thrower to exhaust later, for show.
any input app.
