Had the fairlane dynoed yesterday with the fordmods group, with a suprising result. The last time it was done, was when I fitted the manual tranny, and I got 81 (running gas). Yesterday, I was supprised when I got 100 rwkw. The only changes have been fitting thermos, ef inlet (on default position) and running petrol. Cant wait to see what a cam and decent exhaust will do!

congrats, petrol will usually make quite a difference.
when i ran at heathcote a while back there was 0.6 seconds difference between running on LPG and Petrol, petrol felt much stronger but its rough as guts :p

Hahahahhahaha!

Quite a nice result tim! Did you ever have it dynoed before the manifold change?

I was a little gutted I couldn't go yesterday bit it was hmmmm new manifold or dyno. New manifolds tipped the scales right over :p

Yeah, the 81rwkw was before the manifold/thermo change, but that was running lpg. I knew I had picked up a bit through the changes, but I wasnt expecting a 25% power gain. Im really stocked fore the money spent!

thats a great improvement..
The ratio of $$$ spent per rwkw gained is impressive

Nice one.. did you only have one run? Be interested to see the differnce if any of the BBM in long and short runner setups

Went for a second run, with the runners cable tied, but it started to ping its tits of at 3000rpm, so we backed off. All up, the mods probably cost around $300.

Does switching from gas to petrol require adjustments in timing also to get max results? Wierd that it'd ping out?

Good work there Low NA :D

When I had my NA dynoed, it was a 3spd w/2.77 diff (yes i know diff doesnt make a difference on a dyno), but I had a 2.5in single muffler, cat back mandrel bent exhaust, K&N filter, XH snorkel and an EBII 4.0lt motor... and it scored 108rwkW. So you're not doin too bad..

i made a similar increase by dropping LPG and changing from CFI to EL manafold. 72rwkw up to 94rwkw. This is though a stock colapsed cat + exhaust, and a 4speed auto+3.08diff.
