I got some new tyres today...

I asked for P6000's as everyone recommended to me... but they where $400 a tyre!!

Anyways, I ended up with LeMans 401. They where $175 a tyre and they have proven to be very good!

They are a hell of alot quieter than the old Monza's. They actually stopped what I thought was suspension clunks.

They also handle very well. although the car still pulls to the left on the straight even after a wheel alignment.

Mate get the steering rack checked out.. mine was the same after I got the suspension done.. even after the alignment the steering wheel was not fully centered and the car pulled a bit to the left.

I hate to tell you this, but I got Pirelli P5000 for $112 each a few weeks ago and the price decided it for me. Apparently Pirelli were doing some factory sponsored deal. I think I paid about $125 - 130 a couple of years ago for same tyres.

I got mine from Tyrepower Eltham (Melb). Don't know if it was a general deal or just Tyrepower stores, or how long it lasted.

Bob quoted me $170 or so for my P6000s but I got them for $135. Need to shop around!

Then I got quoted $540 for my P-Zeros on the Ovlov by Bob and got them for $380. Same thing...........

Yeah but what size? My P5000's were $185 a piece for 225x50x16's, but for the 15's it's more like $130. Wazza got the smaller ones on his ute.

I'm very happy with mine, the best 16" tyre I have had. Of course, it would be naive to assume they are the same in 15" or 17".. different size = totally different kettle of fish.

I had a set of Pirelli's on my car when I first bought it (almost 4 years ago)

Cant remember which model - but they where 225 65 15.

They lasted 3 months!!! Went from 90% tread to slicks very quickly... and it was the front tyres too!!! (not just the rear)

I think the most I ever paid for 15" tyres was about $120 each.

I'm not too sure, by the way Jay's car is still relatively new, i don't think the steering rack has given up just yet. My baby's done 198k and still on the original steering rack and tracks straight.

Me thinks the wheel alighnment hasn't been done properly. Whenever springs etc have been fitted it's a rule of guide to allow for a week driving to settle the parts in before alignment should be made.
