·My mom came down to visit me for a week, and she rented a '01 Toyota Corolla for her stay, since I couldn't drive to the airport to get her with 2 broken arms and she doesn't feel comfortable driving my truck. Well apparently that car has a lot of get-up-and-go because on the way home from the grocery store today we stopped to get gas about 200 yards down the highway from my house. When we went to leave, it was pretty much rush hour with steady traffic moving at 55 mph and with very few gaps to merge into. Add this to the fact that we had to get to my house which was on the other side of the 4-lane divided highway and we had quite a challenge on our hands.
That's when I saw them. 2 little punks that live down the street from me, the same ones that always wave hello when they walk by the house and I'm working on the bike or whatever. Well today there was nothing friendly about them, and they had just come out of the gas station after getting some candy and pop. One of the wannabe RaCeRz was mounted on a sweet chromed Huffy with 20" wire basket rims, and the other one trailed closely behind on one of those cookie cutter scooters that you see everywhere these days...
It didn't take long for us to realize that a race was on, since as soon as there was a sizeable gap in traffic, they immediately darted straight across the highway and into the grass median, using their all-terrain Nike shoes to their advantage. We, on the other hand, had to merge across 2 open lanes, get in the left-turn lane in the median, and wait for a gap in traffic from the other lanes. As soon as we saw our chance, we took it and we saw that the 2 RaCeRz had done the same. We darted into the subdivision like a rocket sled on rails, screeched to a stop, and we were out of the car unloading groceries from the trunk before the 2 little street punks knew what even hit them... :gok: Now that's what I call a "good kill" and they even had the good faith to wave hello as a sign of admitting their defeat.
hehehe

Ben
