Good afternoon, my son has a 2010 Mercury Mariner it is shifting hard out of first over 3000 RPM or if I let off the gas. The check engine light came on and I had it scanned, the code that came up was P0756 Shift Solenoid B Performance or stuck off. I flushed the system (roughly 4 quarts) and refilled on 6/27/21 and will do it again this weekend. I am somewhat handy and if I can located the solenoid pack I might be able to replace it myself, but first I need to find it. I have been reading that it might be inside the pan towards the front of the vehicle where I drained it from originally. I also read that it was not located there because there are 2 different generations. It is 2 wheel drive.

Thank you in advance.

It sticks down into the pan, attached to the transmission.

Is that the area where the drain plug is at? I studied a few videos and it looks somewhat easy but I just want to make sure. Do you have any additional info or pictures?
Thank you.

Well, I saw 3 different pctures for a filter, which means that they have more than one possible transmission. If you drop the pan, it sits lower than everything else and it just pops on, it's not screwed (at least none that I've messed with). Your transmission has a drain plug?
