Can someone tell me two things about replacing a driver low beam headlight bulb Fusion 2012
1. Do you need to disconnect the battery to replace a headlight bulb on the drivers side?
2. Do you access the bulb holder from the top or from the wheel area as I have seen youtubes videos showing both.

Replacement costs at local repair shop is over $115. I can't afford that.

thank you

There's really no need to disconnect the battery, just make sure the ignition & headlights are off.

I believe you can reach down in front of the air cleaner box then reach over behind the headlight assembly. Pop off the round rubber cap then grasp the bulb and twist to remove. From there you should be able to pull the bulb up where you can disconnect the wiring connector.

Make absolutely sure you don't touch the bulb or get anything on it or it will fail in no time. If in doubt, use rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to clean the bulb.
