My weekend project is to replace the very lose ignition switch. THe think is bad. Can anyone tell me if I need special tools? Did anyone do that already and lead me into doing the job before I attempt to take it all appart?

never done it before but ive had a locksmith replace mine. because i drove it to his shop they only charged my $55 total.
he used a steering wheele puller and a couple other fancy tools but you prolly wont need the others.
it took a pro about 30 minuts total so for an ameture god knows how long.
just go buy the switch and a steering whele puller can be rented for free bacily from autozone if u cant loan a tool that then pay for a pro to do it i guess.

It's fairly simple. IIRC you turn the lock to "RUN" and then there's a hole you stick a small rod in to release it.

The lock cylinder was a standard ford part. I've read the instructions on several sites for how to replace it.
