I dont think they are predator copies the wheels(CSA Force) have been around for ages.
Photoshop who me naaaa!
Its low as I can bloody get it...kings springs front and back(reset leafs+1 1/2 lowering blocks)and everyday monroe gas shocks at the back and sensor traxs at the front...no uprated sway bars needed, still using the stock bushes.
The audio system will be the next job in line... 1 of a million!

I've got the kings and 2 inch blocks for the pano.... just gotta get them on. I'm gonna leave the shocks alone for the moment cause it handles pretty well stock. If i have any problems i'll change em.

What plans you got for the audio system? Not that many places to put speakers in the ute, but then you don't need many for such a small cabin space.

Well when I get of my ass I'll finish the system.
The front stage consist's of philps GTM1050(4 inch splits)in the kick panels and GTM1750(6.5 inch splits minus the tweeters)for mid bass in the doors, a 10 inch Earthquake sub is mounted below the ute floor(next to the fuel tank)and vents into the cab from underneath the drivers seat. The amps are both Jaycar I have a 4X50wrms that is bridged for the GTM1050's and a 4X100wrms with 2 channels bridged for the sub the other 2 channels will power the GTM1750's. The H/U (head unit!)is a old dinosaur pioneer...1995 model!, also I use a pioneer eq/xover which cascade's with the amps xovers for a 24db xover point on the sub.(a xover controls the frequency direction to each speaker ie, high and low)
I also had to move the EFI computer to fit the GTM1050's in the passenger side kickpanel...just enough wire length to reach the top of the passenger foot well. To fit the GTM1750's in the doors without cutting any metal is a real *****...power windows are heaven sent items!

Hey Rolfy, very nice ute, I didn't know your's was the V8 version.

Those Phillips splits are pretty good. I've got a pair of the GTM1750's in each door. In place of the original door speaker, I've mounted the two tweeters and I've replaced the door map pocket with the door pods to hold the 2 6.5" woofers.
How are the XH doors compared to the EF+ doors? Behind mine, I didn't have to build a door buildout if i didn't want too, because there was plenty of room behind the map pocket and no metal as well.

-----------------

AusXH: The wheels the predator had were speedline 18" rims. The CSA Force wheels look exactly the same (with a considerably cheaper price too, which is a bonus).

I had sony 6 1/2" speakers in the doors of my old XF. Needed abit of persuading to get them in there but they sounded great. I'm abit p!ssed acutally that i sold the car with them. Originally i planned to put them in the kick panels, but i never imagined there'd be enough room there and it didn't have a computer.

But anyway sounds like you've got it sorted but what else do you need/want :s4

Great looking ute rolfy!

Tell me more about the sub in the tray. It's mounted under that cover on the drivers side, right? (fuel tank passenger side). Do you have it in a box or is it mounted on the cab wall? Any details on the box and the porting to the cab?

I'm no great expert on sound systems which you have probably guessed but want to do something to help the XG. Thinking 6"splits in the cab, Sub like yours, in that space somewhere/somehow with a suitable amp. You think your head unit is a dinosaur, mines also a Pioneer (early 1990's) with a 6-disc changer under the drivers seat.

PS. I use my ute like a ute occasionally, dirt & crap in the back, I suspect that you don't but have you had any problem with water & crap getting into the area where you have the sub.

Thanks, any advise would be appreciated.

Yes the box is in under the tray(where the back seat bottom squab would be if it was a sedan). You can make around 50-70ltr box to fit in this space
To make this box is a *****...and I still havent finished it yet, the box is made from fibre glass and more fibre glass(up to 1inch thick!) Basicaly you need to line the area so the resin cant stick to the metal.(I use al-foil and lots of masking tape) Several pieces of cardboard are needed so as to form a shape that will allow room for the wiring to run thru and facilitate removal of the box...and slot back in while applying presure against the rear fire wall to maintain a weather proof seal! Its a big ask...but if you've done fibre glassing before its not that hard.
I have spent to many hours doing this, Im on my 3rd pug mould now just to get the right shape that does all the mentioned above...Also a large hole must be cut in the rear fire wall that must be suitabley braced ,I have talked to several engineers about this they say the hole must have approx 15-20mm round tubbing welded in around the edges of the hole(corners must be rounded shape)and can be welded in by a qualified panel beater with no inspection needed.
To get all this done by a pro would cost...so Im thinking of moulding them to sell, that is once I get the pug mould worked out and looking factory good!
Oh I forgot to mention the box is made of 2 pieces...
I'll get some pic's done

Thanks Rolfy,

Would appreciate the pics whenever you get the chance.
Sounds harder than I had imagined, still interested though.
