Hey,

My Service Engine soon light has come on and I was wondering if anyone has the codes for it???

I have a '96 Taurus LX...I disconnected the battery and reset the system, but the light came back on after another 100kms...

If anyone has any thoughts on this it would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have the code list. If you can give me a code read by a code scanner, I can tell you what it means.

Is there anyway to get the codes out of the system without a testing system???

It is like 300 bucks for the system

Take the car to an AutoZone store. They will scan the codes for free.

Check engine light.

To what I see here.
Your car is a OBDII system that why
a basic scanner will not work.
Or pay a cupful of hunderd $$$
Did they check out the EGR valve?
A high flowing vale with cause a hight amount of carbon
in the intake. Also did the car run a little rough at idle?
Did you get a copy of the work order?
Its should have the codes they found.
Also try a can of fuel injector cleaner every other month.
Good luck.

I would like to know about my service engine soon light coming on and off all the time. Lately it is "ON" more than not. I have just moved to California and feel afraid to "smog" my car until I can find out what is the matter. Autozone doesn't do the computer test for free in the state of California anymore. I don't mind paying 25 dollars to have a test done elsewhere, but will this be the "full test" that I need. I want to sound like I know something when I show up at their door...
Autozone mentioned that my o2 sensor could be worn out...
My car doesn't seem to have problems. They say there is an oil leak but I don't really seem to think it is major compared to my past experience. I just want to pass the smog test. I don't have any smoke or carborator problems.
By the way, this is a 94 Ford Tempo
