Here's what happens. Under medium to light acceleration, when I ease on the gas when I approach the speed I want to be at, the car shifts down, and it shudders until i completely let off the gas, or give it some more throttle.

Two things i'm going to do first.

1) Change the transmission fluid and filter
2) Check for error codes.

But i'm wondering if anyone else here has had this problem. I talked to a mechanic customer of mine and he said to do the two things above, but to research if anyone else has had this problem too to make sure.

Sounds like Torque converter slippage. When you have the fluid/filter changed make sure to ask about the additive for the transmission that can help this problem. (The transmission shop should know what you need. If not, go to another shop.) I had a similar problem with a '95 V8 Thunderbird and it took two quarts of additive to get rid of the shudder. Failing that the torque converter may have to be replaced. Good luck.

It sounds more to me like your TV cable isn't adjusted properly. Read up on this and adjust your TV cable, to see if that helps any. It's free and easy to adjust, but I'd recommend going to the dealer and getting a brass grommet to replace the stock plastic.
