Recalls Reach Record Levels
A staggering 1.4million vehicles were recalled last year because of faults. That's more than 50 per cent the number of new cars sold annually and represents a 30 per cent increase over figures for the previous year.
The ever-increasing complexity of vehicles and their electrical componentry are being blamed for the rise. Worryingly, too, the AA claims there were 260,000 motors last year which should have had corrective work done, but slipped through the net.
