Hi all,
the last few days, my rear driverside wheel has been getting squeaky, not when braking, but just normal driving.
Its usually worst between 5 - 65km/h. Going round corners (putting force I guess on the wheel) often stops it, until its upset again. It happens under acceleration, braking and just normal driving.
Applying the handbrake slightly while driving can stop it 90% of the time, but on release, usually after a couple seconds, the squeaking starts up again.
Using normal brakes doesnt stop the whining either, well, not every time.
Like I said, its getting worse and worse, is annoying as well as embarrassing.
I had my car serviced the other day, in which they did a tyre rotation.
I'm not sure what to make of it. Obviously not the brakes, because it would squeak only when stopping. Wheel bearings? Why would the hand brake stop the noise?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I wont get a chance to talk to the mechanic who serviced the car till monday, and I wouldnt mind having a look at it myself first.
cheers
