Just another thought for an option on heads -

I shopped around awhile & found a set of 1.9 Ebrock alum
heads with 3k miles for $600.

They reportedly flow within 5% of the 2.02 versions on the
intakes and are the same on the exhausts.

They're not quite the latest/greatest like AFR or something,
but for $600 I just smoothed the chambers out, took a bit of
the machining ridge out of the lower corners of the exhaust
ports, changed the soft spring shims/seats to hardened ones
and bolted them on.

That pretty much equaled a set of reworked P's or plain 40's
costwise plus I got a better flowing head, better comb chambers, and
the weight saving of aluminum.

I got them from a guy who was upgrading to a set of AFRs on a
fairly well built 302.

I decided on a set of remanufactured GT40P heads. Now for the cam. Any good kits to buy? I was looking at a Comp in the 2,300 to 6,500 RPM range for around $200. Does anyone have experience with a good (and cheap) pushrod set. I am also thinking about some aluminum roller rocker arms. Any suggestions? Thanks

If you choose the right cam with the lift you want then 1.6 roller rockers are fine . 1.7's are usually an upgrade when dont want to do a cam swap.
Yella Terra rockers are good but might be a bit hard to find in the USA. Comp cams make good rockers and ive heard good things about Scorpion roller rockers as well.

I was looking at gaskets the other day and they seem to be a little pricey. Could I use a Mr. Gasket rebuild kit, or would I have some problems, considering I plan to spin the engine around 6,500 RPM? Is the compound that its made of mean anything?
Also I have been looking at cams. Any suggestions? I have been looking around, but am kind of confused. I would like to get the most bang for the buck. Anybody have experience with comp, crane, lunati or other brands? Thanks

I have recenty purchased a 351W out of an old van. The guy said it was a stock 351W, but when I tore it down, it has been bored .060 over and has a four-bolt main. My question is, is there a way to build this engine up into the 400+ hp range without replacing the pistions, rods, and crank? And would I be able to add a nitrous system later, again without replacing any of the rolling asembly? I am kind of on a budget, so anything will help. Thanks!
i dont believe Ford ever built a 351 W 4 bolt main block
