Guys, this is goin back many years now but do you remember a game called stunts. I know it's ancient but it's really really fun game, and doesn't take that much room on hd. So far it's the only game i knowwhere you can race realistic cars on tracks that you can create your self.

We should start a compettion if there are any of you who have this game. :D :D

EF_GuY with the March Indy around the default track...

By hell I remember this one!! :D :D :D Yeah I used to play this one all the time, managed some truly spectacular feats...

There was another, very very like this one, called Stunt Car Racer I think. Didn't have the F1 cars or anythign like that, just boxy sedan type things. You used to be able to do 360's over jumps etc. by inducing drift on the jump ramp etc. Was quite fun back in the day ... :D

Another good one for doings that you weren't supposed to was Big Red Racing, where you could take Minis mountain climbing.. go way off the racing track, and take the little buggers places never intended to be explored.. hehe

Motor City Online was actually made about 18months ago. it was ment to be released as another NEED FOR SPEED title: Need For Speed Motor City. some developers at EA decide to turn it into an online game only and have a full working economy with 5000 odd parts to put in your car. With auctions, trading, you can even personalise you paint job. The down side is that it IS online only and when it is relesed it will come with an monthly fee. It's due out in December...just in time for Christmas...hehe

As a beta tester the game is cool and is very addictive!

On the Amiga there was a game called Stunt Car Racer, it was heaps better than the PC version. It had the holes and cracks on the rollbar, and when you had too many, the car was destroyed. You could hit the boost button and flames would come out of the exhaust. My favourite game back then (along with Street rod off course).

BTW, I think I've got that game somewhere along with the emulator (Amiga emulator to run it on the PC) if anyone wants it.

I think it was ported to PC as well cos I remember playing it on my dads PC when I was a kid.

Also loved Test Drive (of course) :)

Stunts... I must have wasted months of my life playing that. Making tracks with hills and jumps off the tops of the hills and being in the air for halfway accross the map with the F1... and then there was the loops... and the tubes... ahh so many memories.

But the first car driving game I had was Test Drive 3. It was bloody great, going offroad in those cars that looked like boxes. Must have been revolutionary for gaming engines in those days.

Guys,

Good to see alot of you have sortof an interest in old car games. What do you do in that street rod game?

Anyone still got stunts on their computer, if you guys do we should trade tracks that we made they are in .trk files.
Yeah, yeah call me sad or whatever but i still play stunts on the odd occasion.

But my version has a keyword to enter before you can play it. :( :(

I have a copy of test drive 3, but i didn't like it much as the steering was to responsive i think cause i was running it on a 486.

Yeah i loved TD3 - even though you only had 3 cars to choose from - the levels were huge, you could activate your wipers and headlights (to add to the realism) - also if i recall correctly you could 2 player multiplayer as well?

You can get a small program that slows down your computer to different computer speeds (ie. 386) so you can play old games at the speed they were meant to played in. Dont know what the program name is called but i'm pretty sure they exist - just do a search on google or something.

hehe. What you do is start off with a bit of dosh in the game, buy yourself a car, do it up a bit then go racing! you can drag race a bit, go for pink slips etc etc.. Then when you win someone elses car, you can sell it or do it up, and then go racing again! but if you get too nice a car then noone will race you cos you'll make em piss! Then after a while this dude called The King rolls by in a Mustang, and then if you beat him, you win the game!

but its like a real workshop, you buy bits out of the newspaper, put em on your car and then go cruising n stuff.. you can even buy fuel, its really well thought out!
